Clwyd South AM Ken Skates supports High Street Week

AM Ken Skates has shown his support for local traders as part of the Welsh Government’s High Street Week, which ran from September 19th-26th.

‘Tweet about your high street’ was the call from the Labour AM for Clwyd South, who is based in Llangollen.

The initiative encourages residents to take to social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook and say why their local high street is special.

The AM is asking residents to use the hashtag #SupportHighStreet.

The Welsh Labour Government idea aims to help attract more people to shop local.

Mr Skates said: “Llangollen has a wonderful array of independent shops, businesses and places to eat and drink in the town centre. One of the traders, our butcher Gwyn Davies, recently won a Welsh Government award as part of High Street Week.

“Whatever you need, there’s a good chance you can get it in Llangollen. I’d encourage everyone in the town to support their high street and our local businesses.”
