Assembly Member Ken Skates has welcomed the confirmation that Brymbo residents will soon benefit from a mobile bank visiting the village.
Mr Skates, the Labour AM for Clwyd South, asked NatWest bosses to consider a service for the Brymbo community during a meeting last month, and said it ‘is too important a community not to have something like this’.
Mr Skates has since been in talks with local manager Pam Sheemar and the company has confirmed it will soon start weekly visits to the area, which will be hosted at Brymbo Enterprise Centre.
Mr Skates said: “We held very positive initial discussions and I’m really pleased the finer details have now been sorted out and we’re ready to take this forward. Brymbo is too important a community not have something like this, so I’m delighted to have been able to help make it happen.
“The Enterprise Centre is an excellent venue and the ideal location for the mobile bank, and I’m hoping this is something which will make a difference to the community and for those in the Brymbo area who do not have access to important banking services on their doorstep.”
North Wales Police has now given the move its backing, and the service will launch on September 19 and be at the centre from 11.15am-11.45am every Friday. The mobile bank will be at the Stiwt Theatre in Rhos immediately beforehand every week from 10am-11am.
