Ken Skates welcomes ‘exciting’ plans for former Denbighshire school

Assembly Member Ken Skates has welcomed ‘exciting’ proposals to convert a former village school into a mixed-use social enterprise centre.

Mr Skates, the Labour AM for Clwyd South, attended a meeting at the Glyndyfrdwy School site on Monday (September 8) and viewed an exhibition of plans put forward by a volunteer-run community group.

He said: “The old school in Glyndyfrdwy is wonderful building with stunning views, and is the perfect spot for a combined community and business facility like the one being proposed.

“I welcome these very exciting plans, which include creating a visitor centre, a café, office space and an outdoor recreation and play area, which will also be a fantastic vantage platform over the Llangollen Railway.”
