AM praises Corwen firm Ifor Williams Trailers at National Eisteddfod

IWT1CLWYD SOUTH AM KEN SKATES paid tribute to Corwen-based Ifor Williams Trailers during a visit to the National Eisteddfod.

Mr Skates stopped by the show stand of Europe’s biggest trailer maker at the event in Denbigh last week and met design engineering manager Andy Reece Jones.

LABOUR AM MR SKATES said: “Ifor Williams is a major employer in Clwyd South and one I am especially proud to be associated with. I was delighted to talk to Andy and hear how well business is going – long may it continue.

“Particularly important is that Ifor Williams operates a successful apprenticeship scheme which offers crucial opportunities to young people living in the Corwen area.”

He added: “The company’s stand at the Eisteddfod was certainly one of the most eye-catching on the whole site and sums up just how meticulous Ifor Williams is about everything it does. I know a lot of people were impressed, which can only bode well.”

Throughout the week Mr Skates also spent time talking to Macmillan Cancer Support volunteers and attended – with First Minister Carwyn Jones – the official launch of Coleg Cambria, the new further education institution for North East Wales formed by the merger of Wrexham’s Yale College and Deeside College in Flintshire.
