Clwyd South AM Ken Skates praises pupils after visit to Ysgol y Waun, Chirk

CLWYD South Assembly Member Ken Skates gave pupils top marks after being invited to a special assembly at a Chirk school.

The Labour AM spent the morning at Ysgol y Waun on Friday (May 16) and was treated to a ‘fantastic performance’ as part of a family assembly with parents before being taken on an extended tour of the school.

Mr Skates said: “I was given a wonderful warm welcome and got to see a fantastic performance by pupils of a play about a clever and kind giant.

“I love the school’s idea of holding family assemblies and think they’re a really good opportunity to involve parents, grandparents and guardians, and all the guests I spoke to enjoyed it just as much as I did.

“I had a brilliant morning and it was great to meet to so many staff members, pupils and parents, and I will look forward to my next visit to Ysgol y Waun.”
