ASSEMBLY Member Ken Skates has welcomed investment in Hanmer Post Office, which he says will offer his constituents a better service.
Post Office Limited has confirmed the branch will close at midday on Wednesday, April 9, for refurbishment and reopen a week later at 1pm on April 16.
Labour AM Mr Skates said: “The new, improved branch should provide an even better service for customers in Hanmer, and I believe this investment in the community is something to be welcomed.
“As well as longer opening hours of 8am-6pm on Monday-Friday and 8.30am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday, the branch will have a new layout with an open plan counter designed to enable customers to carry out a wide range of transactions efficiently and more quickly.
“The Post Office has said that the branch’s operator is keen to continue providing the same high standards of service that my constituents already benefit from, so it all bodes well for a bright future for Hanmer Post Office.”
Post Office Limited said affected customers can access services at the Overton and Whitchurch branches while the Hanmer premises undergoes refurbishment.
