An Assembly Member was given a tour of a community hospital and met patients for a question and answer session about his job.
Ken Skates, Welsh Labour AM for Clwyd South, visited New Hall Independent Hospital in Ruabon on Friday, June 17, to talk about subjects including the EU referendum.
“I really enjoyed visiting New Hall and meeting the people there, and we had a really interesting chat about a wide variety of issues,” said Mr Skates.
New Hall has 32 beds and offers recovery and rehabilitation care and treatment for men aged 18-65 with functional mental health disorders and learning difficulties.
The hospital has three wards and is an all-male service, helping people who have left long-term acute or secure services but are not yet ready to return home.
Mr Skates added: “It’s a fantastic facility. I’d like to thank Guy Wellsbury for inviting me in and the staff and residents for their warm welcome.”
