ASSEMBLY Member Ken Skates praised ‘dedicated and caring’ members of staff after visiting a village playgroup.
Mr Skates, the Labour AM for Clwyd South, met leader Debbie Roberts and the children at Rhostyllen Playgroup recently and congratulated them on a ‘very positive’ Estyn report earlier this year.
Inspectors gave the group a ‘good’ rating, and Mr Skates said it was easy to see why they had highlighted the excellent work Debbie and her team do.
He said: “I really enjoyed my visit to Rhostyllen and it was clear to see how dedicated the team are to creating a warm and caring environment for the children.
“It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces and great to see first-hand the many very positive things the Estyn inspectors highlighted in their report. Debbie and her staff do a wonderful job.”

The Estyn report said Rhostyllen Playgroup, which has 20 children on its books, had ‘many strengths and no important areas requiring significant improvement’ and that its current performance and prospects for the future were both good. Inspectors also praised the quality of teaching and care support.
Mr Skates added: “The group is currently asking for donations for its Christmas fundraising raffle. I have told Debbie I will gladly give some prizes, but if anyone else would like to help please contact my office on 01978 869058 or Debbie on 07847927177.”
